She did give us the name of another groomer in the area and so I called her up a few weeks ago. Yesterday was the first appointment she had open. A little longer than their usual 5 to 6 weeks grooming schedule and let me tell you - they were getting pretty shaggy! (No pictures - I don't know why I didn't take any.)
I must say I was a little anxious about our kids going to a new groomer. Poor Elliott has never liked going although his old groomer always told me what a good boy he was. I was concerned about Smoke because of his hip dysplasia which can make him cranky sometimes. And Dani, our little Diva girl - I wasn't sure how she would behave.
We'd decided with the hot weather, we'd have Dani cut shorter than her normal "do". It will take some getting used to on our part but she seems very happy. Basically her legs are the only real difference.
Elliott is his same handsome self.
And Smoke? If you've seen pictures of him before you know that his coat was a silver color. Back in January I did a post about some reverse graying he had going on. Well, it looks like he's now gone from his dark puppy coat, to a silvery coat, and now he's dark again on his back. Interesting, I think. We'll see what happens when his fur starts growing out again.
Looks like we found a good groomer and one that the "kids" did well with.
I am so relieved!
They're adorable. Very photogenic. Glad you found someone they like.
ReplyDeleteThey do look happy! I'm glad it all worked out with the new groomer.
ReplyDeleteI'm home for just overnight. I'm enjoying my wireless and getting to visit some of my favorite blogs. I have a whole lot to catch up on!
Have a great weekend. Take care ~Natalie
They look so happy with their new hair cuts...cooler too!
ReplyDeleteYour doggies look great! My yorkie, Mollie, is dark on the back but is getting more and more silver. She is 7 and such a joy to me. The boss of the house for sure...how can that be at 4 3/4 pounds????
ReplyDeleteAnyway, can't find a grommer I like here. They either cut wayyyyyyyyyyyy top short or leave her wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long! :(
Love to you~Rebecca
All groomed and ready for the party!
ReplyDeleteYour furbabies are handsome (boys) and beautiful (girl). They know they are all fixed up and strut their stuff, at least ours does. He thinks he is a gift to everyone when he has been groomed.
ReplyDeleteCute post, especially because I LOVE dogs.
~Maxine~
The kids look great!!
ReplyDeleteI have been having some problems with Bob and his hips lately. I was surprised to read about Smoke. I never realized that small dogs could actually have those hip problems..
We always have Maxwell cut shorter than norm also when the weather is hot. He does not do well with the heat.
ReplyDeleteLove the new dos however.
Have a blessed weekend.
They look much cooler !
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Diane
Glad you and your "kids" are happy with the new groomer.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard when you have someone you like and really trust with the "kids" and then you have to try someone new. The kids look wonderful. Elliot has ears like my Wrigley! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteThey look so handsome!
ReplyDeleteAnd don't we all love a new haircut? Besides that, they smell good! LOL Your doggies are really cute!

Dani Smoke and Elliott are just adorable with their new haircuts. I'm glad they were good and now they'll be so much cooler in these HOT temps. My GS Banjo acts like it's pure torture to stay outside any good length of time.
ReplyDeleteAll three are cute, but my heart belongs to Elliot. Glad you found a good groomer.
ReplyDeleteI keep my yorkie in a short cut for the warmer months too. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteDon't they look all dapper!!
ReplyDeleteEven though it's our cats, we feel the same way about our veterinarians. We trust them with our babies and that's that!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs look darling in their new, cooler cuts!
I'm catching up on my blog reading today!
Just found your blog; I've been following adoption blogs for more than a year now. Decided I needed to branch out and find some that are more "comtemporary" for me. And here I am! I enjoyed your post and will be back to read more soon.
