Reverse Graying?
When Smoke became a part of our family in 2006 he looked like this.
After his first trip to the groomer's we thought he was living up to his name because he came home looking like this.
Eventually his coloring became more gray.
A few months ago I caught him sleeping on the back of AD's recliner and snapped this photo. See how gray his coat is?
Then a few weeks ago a small dark patch appeared near his tail. At first I thought he must have a bruise or something. But the patch continues to get larger and is working its way up his back as the days go by. Now we're seeing a lot of dark fur underneath the gray.
Today Smoke and the other 2 indoor fur kids have an appointment with the groomer. It makes me wonder what he'll look like when we pick him up this afternoon.
If Smoke's fur really is returning to its original color I'll bet there are humans out there that would like to know his secret.

Are the groomers secretly dyeing his hair to mess with your mind? LOL That is strange isn't it. Oh well..gotta love him no matter.
ReplyDeleteIf you find out the secret....let me know!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.....LindaMay
That's interesting! I haven't see that happen before. Is it particular to the breed or is it some other factor?!?!?!

ReplyDeleteHmmm..Im going to have to think about that...Hes precious...
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty puppy, regardless of his/her?? color. My dog used to be gray with dark patches; now she is completely gray. Kind of like me!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind remarks on my blog these past weeks. I am sorry I have not been very responsive in kind. Your "kid" is adorable. We could have had one of these little guys, but were thinking maybe they were "yappy" dogs. Are yours yappy?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that exact thing before I got to the end of your post....I would be one of those people. I had white hair as a child...really white, then it got blond, then it got darker blond, then it got.....I call it "Sparkly"! :)
ReplyDeleteSmoke is adorable. Maybe he just worries too much when he is standing guard at the window. Watching birds is stressful business.
ReplyDeletePS Maybe you should have named him Benjamin Button!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely like to know Smoke's secret!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you feeding that dog? tee hee
I need someone to discover the secret to reversing hair growth...from my ears. Yikes!
