You might remember that we gave G4 copies of
Paula Deen's children's cookbooks for Christmas.
Last night he called to tell me he had fixed dinner for the family with a little help from his dad. You know, hot pans and stuff like that. I believe G4 told me the name of the recipe was Cheeseburger Casserole.
He seems to be a natural at this cooking thing.
Time to top everything off with cheese.
Looks like the dish is ready to go in the oven. G4 has the oven mitts on but somehow I think Son probably put the dish into the oven. A casserole like that can sometimes be heavy.
Look how tasty the dish looks!
G4 should be very pleased with himself. Granny is pretty proud of the work he did!
A special thanks to Son who photographed this event and shared the photos.
I have an 11-year-old girl who is quite the cook. She's starting to take care of some of our family meals.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Good for him, and it does look wonderful. My daughter dislikes the kitchen just like me, but married a guy that loves to cook. One of my boys loves to cook and the other one is finding he loves to grill!
ReplyDeleteForget the cheeseburger casserole, don't you just want to eat him up? He is too cute! Thank you for sharing one of your little men and his newest achievement. Looks like Granny knows how to pick presents!

Oh My...a child after my own heart! Can we share him? I want to adopt him for my grandson--can I borrow him? I love children who are just fascinated in the kitchen! I like that apron he's wearing--you made that huh? It's enough to make me want one and wear it!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Thanks for sharing!
Looks like the 'next food network star'! Good job G4!

Carol
AWWWWW! That is wonderful!! The picture with the ginormous oven mitts is priceless!
ReplyDeleteCathryn, I bought the apron at Hobby Lobby and used my Sizzix to cut the letters, then iron them on.
ReplyDeleteCould he be having more fun? I think you've got the next Food Network Star in the kitchen there! Great photos and now I want some of that casserole!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that a little guy like that would love to cook. You can just see the joy and pride on that face. Sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute chef. I have son that loves to cook for his family. My oldest son can cook but he would sooner grill out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such sweet G4.
That is just too precious for words...I can see why you are so proud...awww...
ReplyDeleteHow seriously adorable that is!!! I bet he loves having a blog post all about him! :0)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Dad!
Oooooh, I like that kid! Never could convince my children to learn how to cook, but now my daughter is an excellent cook, and this week Son #1 informed me that he'd made General Tso's chicken for dinner. Son #2? Well, he's still eating lots of fast food, so I'm not sure the prognosis is too good for him.
