Finally - Christmas Photos

As I said earlier today, Son and his family were with us this past weekend to share a late Christmas.

There was the traditional "pickle" hunt. We actually had 2 - one for G3, G4 and Girlie and one just for G5 since it was his first year to hunt the pickle. G3 found the pickle the first go-round and G5, of course, found it the second time.

All four shared in decorating a gingerbread boy, a gingerbread house and each one made a snowman's head.

Of course there were gifts. Girlie had a special gift for G1's girlfriend.

G3, G4 and Girlie all got marshmallow guns.

Even though it was pretty cold on Saturday, they had a good time shooting marshmallows. Our dogs actually cleaned some of them up which really surprised AD and me. Elliott, Smoke and Dani have never liked marshmallows!

G3 and G4 tried out the "red-neck" Wii game they gave AD for Christmas.

All the kids wanted a ride in AD's newest vehicle. Girlie had to wait  for her turn and she was really anxious for her ride. I coaxed her over to look at some cattle that were close to our fence promising I'd watch for her Papa to get back with her older brothers so she could have her ride.

Of course there was food.

Son insisted he was just going to rest his eyes. After just a few minutes his sister put the Grinch doll on his shoulder and AD added the elf hat. Of course that said "photo op" to me.

Son should count himself lucky though. Make-up could have been added!

So now I'm in the process of getting all the Christmas decorations away for another 10 months or so, then we'll do it all again.

  2. It looks like everybody had a great Christmas. Marshmallow guns make great gifts. Nice pic of son asleep. You know being a blogger makes you a journalist and so you have not just a right but a responsibility as a citizen to take such pictures and post them on the internet. That is one reason Al Gore invented the internet.

  8. That looks like a fun Christmas! I love the hats with ears :) Ii gave marshmallow guns last Christmas and it was really a fun gift! I got one for Aubrey and he shoots them out to Todd & Lucy. It is weird that dogs like Marshmallows but that is what we taught our dogs to catch with.

Oh - and to answer your question - yes Canton, TX. Have you been? I have been trying to research it but can't find anyone who has actually been. Is it mostly crafts or antiques? How are the prices?

  15. Good Morning Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful Christmas celebration. I mean who said you have to celebrate one particular day each year. We can have many celebrations. Anytime family gets together, it is a wonderful celebration. I love it.

Love the pickle tradition. We added that just this year. The kids sure have fun looking don't they?

Marshmallow guns hu? I haven't seen those yet. Now that might be a gun the kids could have fun with and my two youngest look about the ages of some of yours there. I will keep that on my list for birthdays coming up, what a deal.

I hear you are having some mighty cold weather there in Oklahoma. I don't miss it. I will keep the sun and warmer temps here. I just never liked the cold. Stay warm sweet friend.

Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

  19. It looks like a really nice Christmas! Cute Grandkids! Great "Elf"! LOL!

I just popped over from Bobbi's blog about adding music - I shut my speakers off myself, enough noise around here, without adding to it. It also slows the download down.

  20. Love the pictures, esp. the one of your son in an Elf hat!!! That should be framed and given next year as a joke gift! Love the tradition of finding the pickle, that was new to us when our daughter married into a German family in 1999. Your buffet looked beautiful and all my favorites!
