Rooms for Rent

Back in January we opened our feathered friends diner. In late February we had our first customer.

Recently AD put up a Purple Martin house. Then last Thursday he installed a second one.

Within about an hour of the second house's grand opening our first visitor showed up.

With all the wind we've been having the last few days I can only imagine staying in one of those rooms would be much like staying in a hotel room during an earthquake or in a ship's cabin on rough sea cruise.

  1. My father built and place two purple martin houses in his back yard. They enjoyed the birds for years. The neighborhood trees are getting to thick now. The birds don't come back as often. It looks like you have a great clear set-up for your motels.

  3. You'll have so much fun watching the birds. I just love all the flat, open land you have. My dream is to one day have space like that and have my own vegetable garden.

  8. I am sure the little birds paid no attention to the strong winds. They were safely tucked in one of those neat little houses.

  10. My dad got totally into bird watching one year. Then, he got into making bird houses. Then he stressed himself out over the bird houses and started hating the birds!! Ha ha !! Sometimes it is just better to sit back and enjoy, isn't it?

  11. We like to watch the birds also. We put up a schoolhouse for them. My youngest gs told me when I bought it that I should buy the barn one as birds would not go to the schoolhouse.LOL
