A couple of weeks ago AD and I made a trip to Oklahoma City to watch G3, G4 and Girlie play ball.
I've been wanting to stop by a particular little cafe that's located on Route 66 for sometime now but it had just never worked out.
It finally did on our trip home.
For those of you from Oklahoma, do you recognize it?
How about now?
The Rock Cafe is not only famous for the fabulous food on the menu
or for being located on Route 66.
The owner, Dawn, was also the inspiration for that cute little blue Porsche, Sally, in the movie CARS.
Not only that, The Rock Cafe has been featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
And it's no wonder! Did I say the food is out-of-this world good?
So, if you decide someday to take a trip down (or up) Route 66, I can highly recommend the Rock Cafe in Stroud, Oklahoma and 4 Women on the Route (see my last post) in Galena, Kansas.
Oh My Gosh Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteDoes that hamburger basket ever look delightful. I have never been to Stroud, but would love to make a trip that way next time I am home. Love the building and how interesting, I have always loved that blue little car in the Cars movie.
Thanks for sharing. Now you have made me hungry for a good old fashioned hamburger basket with home made fries. Love those little Oklahoma diners.
Hope you have a wonderful evening sweetie. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry
We've always wanted to try this place. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
We've looked into driving to the Rock Cafe. Might be worth the trip!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it would be a fun trip just going down Route 66 to no where. Drive along and enjoy the sights and food.
ReplyDeleteWe were on Rt. 66 in AZ ... nothing like your experience for sure. That looks soooo yummy
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend.

oh, cool, god to know.
ReplyDeletethat's neat about sally!!
Yum! You certainly made some memories on this trip! What a great place to be able to visit!
ReplyDeleteI remember when they had a fire a few years ago that destroyed everything. I'm glad they were able to rebuild.
ReplyDeleteWe go whizzing by Stroud quite often but never stopped to eat there. Will have to remember this. Looks like it was well worth the stop and time.
ReplyDeleteThis may be the coolest little cafe in the world for many different reasons, great find granny.
ReplyDeleteWe went last weekend, and it was AMAZING. Cannot recommend the Ruben enough! It is soooo good!
ReplyDeleteI've been there, but it's been nearly 20 years ago, I think. The chicken fried steak was as big as the plate! It was so good!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place!
ReplyDeleteBTW, the large piece of metal was still there by the entrance. Thank you for sharing that story with me....incredible!
I'm going to have to go there. The wife and I have talked about it but we've never done it.
ReplyDeleteLove that stone building!
ReplyDeleteAnd it looks so cute inside. I would love to stop in for a visit if I ever get out that way.
