Fifteen Years

It's been 15 years since the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.

As most Oklahomans do, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when we received the terrible news.

Please remember those who experienced the bombing first hand - the victims, their families and those volunteers who worked during that time.

God bless.

  2. These people are in my prayers as is anyone who has been a victim (directly or indirectly) to senseless random acts of violence.

  3. I can remember as well. And I remember that one of the children injured had the same name as the daughter of one of my co-workers. You are in my heart today.

  4. Amen is RIGHT! So proud to live here...

I see the Memorial every week as I use the downtown post office a lot. Such a reminder of how good always prevails over evil.

    Love to you~Rebecca

  5. That was a very sad day. What a great job the fire and police men did!

Oh, and it's Strawberry season here in So. Calif!

  7. Yes it was. I was sitting in the State Farm office in Choctaw and felt the BOOM. It shook the windows in the plaza. I was thinking it was a sonic boom from a plane flying over. I sat and waited to see the giant shadow go over from a plane, but of course it never did. My office was probably 15 miles away but we felt it. A few hours later I found out my son had left school and went down there. I was worried sick. At that time they were uncertain if there may have been another bomb. He wanted to be there to help. He was in high school at the time and I was so worried I forbid him to stay and told him to come home. This was one of the saddest days. For months afterwards when I would hear thunder it would bring back that horrible day. We did go later to see and the devastation was terrible. It made you cry. It still makes me cry. The memorial with Jesus standing there with his face in his hands weeping..well..its more than I can take.

  8. That kind of terrible thing has not touched our shores very often but when it does we feel it each and every anniversary. May God be with our country that we may heal our wounds and become a better country.

  9. I recalled where I was, painting the panel in the living room getting ready to wallpaper.

Blink and the years go by quickly.

    with love,

  11. I vividly remember getting off work at noon and heading to the high school since our daughters forgot their lunch money. Listening to the radio I was confused because at first I didn't know where it happened. By the time I got to the school I was sick inside at the thought of so many innocent lives being lost. So many of us in southwest LA are from OK or have OK connections, but I would have felt the same if it was NY or any other state.
