AD and I went to Oklahoma City this past weekend for G4's 9th birthday party.
Being the Star Wars fan that Son is, he was extremely excited that G4 asked for a Star Wars cake.
There was light saber limbo. That's G4 going under the limbo saber and G3 preparing to. The little guy in the red cap was just too adorable!
Son made all the kids light sabers out of PVC pipe.
The "light" of each saber was made using duct tape. Each child got to choose the color they liked best.
They all really had a good playing with them.
Besides the cake and of course ice cream, Son made a couple of snack recipes using a Star Wars cookbook. (I took some photos and wanted to post at least one but for some reason blogger just won't bring it in.)
Happy Birthday, G4! Next year it's double digits for you.
Awe..how exciting. Your grandson is too cute! What a fun party...my grandson would have loved it! Your son did a great job on the light sabers!!

Oh Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to GS. Looks like everyone had a wonderful time. I love the original light sabers that your son made. How ingenious is that. Fun, fun and more fun.
Love that cake as well. It is beautiful. Someone really went the extra mile on that. A cake any little Star War boy would love.
What fun sweet friend. Thank you for taking me along to the birthday party. What fun. Have a wonderful week sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
I love to see their eyes light up when they love something homemade! I made my grandson a Harry Potter wand and a case to keep his "owl" in. He loved it! The cake is great and the smiles are even better!
ReplyDeleteCreativity runs in the family! Love the PVC pipe light sabres. Happy Birthday, G4!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very successful birthday party. Love the light sabers!
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea on the light sabers. They will outlast the store bought kind, much cheaper, colorful, and individualized. Totally cool. The boys would still like them, even though they think they are getting too old for Star Wars.
ReplyDeleteWow! This party was way cool!! Son is very creative... lucky for G4. Happy birthday G4!!
ReplyDeleteMaking homemade light sabers is so cool and what a great idea!!! Happy Birthday to your G4!
ReplyDelete(I am making a mental note so I can make these for our bunch of star wars fans) Thanks oodles!
I'm so jealous right now, I'd love a star wars party.....and I'm in my 30s!!! It looked like an awesome day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to G4! He is a handsome little fellow. Your son is very creative; like his mom!
ReplyDeleteYour Friend,
Deborah
Neat cake and great idea with the light sabers. You and your family are SO creative!
ReplyDeleteThat reminded me of the light sabers my sons made from PVC pipe many years ago. I'm pretty sure that at least the older one was a teenager at the time, so your grandchildren may enjoy those light sabers for many years to come. Your son is an awesome dad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great birthday treat! We are going to An Amazing Race birthday party tomorrow. For my nephew who is 6! I hope the rain stays away! Have a gret weekend, Anne
ReplyDeleteFun times!!!
