A Weekend of Birthdays, Valentines, Fish and NASCAR
Friday was AD's birthday. Pineapple Upside Down cake is his favorite so that's what I made.
On Saturday we went to his mother's house to celebrate his, his brother's and sisters' birthdays. Their birthdays are all within about a month of one another.
I made lollipop Valentine's flowers for all the little girls and the candy ipods for the boys at the birthday party.
Afterward Son took AD, me and his kiddos to the Aquarium in Jenks. AD and I had never been there before. It was outstanding!
I'll post photos I took at the aquarium tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Our weekend concluded with AD and I watching the Daytona 500 yesterday. Despite the lengthy time it took to complete the race it was exciting to watch all the way to the end.
A couple of years ago it was our plan to be at Daytona this year for the race. With the cooler weather that Daytona had and with the time it took to run the race, I'm personally just as glad to have been at home watching it. Maybe next year . . .
I can smell that cake all the way over here !
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Diane
Looks like you had a great time for Valentines. I couldn't find a place to e-mail you but I am also an Oklahoma gir, not a granny yet. Head on over to my blog and leave me a note.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!!!
I have been there! I loved going UNDER the sharks the best! Cant wait for the pictures..Pineapple upside down is Mickeys FAVORITE cake..ever!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a happy day. Aquariums are the coolest. There's a great one in Baltimore and at Sea World in Florida.
ReplyDeleteAn Aquarium in Oklahoma! I am blown away. Must look and see where Jenks is so that when we drive to Calif the next time maybe we can make a side trip. The cake looks good. Very good. How much is left (LOL!)
ReplyDeleteYour cake sure does look yummy.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a great time.
I did not get to see NASCAR at all. We had company and no TV was on.
Can't wait to see your photos.
Yes, that aquarium is awesome! It's quite a long drive for us but was worth it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had some fun and that cake looks delicious!!! I love the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. I'm about ready for a visit there!
ReplyDeleteThat cake is making me drool. Not a good look for me never-the-less, I am drooling.
ReplyDeleteI love Jenks! Such a neat little town. Still have not made it to the aquarium. Seems we are always too busy hitting the great restaurants and antique shops.
Happy Birthday to AD!!
I used to love upside down pineapple cake! My girlfriend made me a huge one for my birthday one year and then another after I got married! They are the best but I had to give them up...sad to say!
ReplyDeleteI've been to the Denver Aquarium and it was so fascinating--gave me a glimpse into the life in the oceans. Loved it!
